Plum Card - Who Has It, Who Is It For
Mar 8th, 2008 by Admin
On September 7th, 2007, American Express launched the Plum card. The Plum card is designed to be a semi-exclusive cash back card geared toward small business owners. The card is designed to allow small business owners the flexibility of choosing their billing cycles, having extended time to pay the bill, but also be rewarded by paying early/on time. American Express has specially designed and targeted this card to businesses in the 6 to 7 figure revenue range.
On the initial launch, American Express limited to the Plum card to 10,000 initial cardholders. In an effort to create hype and a sense of exclusivity, Amex marketed this card with a countdown to its launch, and advertised there may be a wait list, using many of the same tactics of exclusivity they have used to make the Centurion card what it is today. Is it the next black card, no probably not, but it does appear to be the best card on the market for small to midsize businesses.

Does anyone have a PLUM card with a spending limit in excess of $250k and is not spending that much? My company spends this amount, but will not qualify for that credit amount. I’d be interested in speaking with you regarding this opportunity.
Are they asking you to pay your bill early? That has been pretty common lately, it isn’t just plum cards. Amex has been keep close eyes on people’s charges and asking them to pay early if spending is out of their normal pattern.
If you’re new to Amex, it takes sometime to gradually build up what they will allow you to spend.
